Tribute To Hiran Rajap
Hiran Rajap
By Baratha Mendis.
Hiran never missed any occasion at the flats and was a dear friend to all of us,he never spoke about what he did,but always was with us at all good and bad times, flatters fielded a rugby side at the club rugby sevens,I was the president, coach and player and he was our manager, I have never met a worker like Hiran in any of the committees or associations I served in,it was great pleasure to work with a person of t`his nature.Hiran played a major role in the flatters creating history by entering the quarter finals in the very first year.
Hiran was a very keen sports follower and never missed out a name of a player and a game played by Isipathana,he did big things in many ways for his college without much noise. The large gathering at the funeral at such a short notice showed the genuine relationship he kept with his freinds.Hiran excelled at hockey for isipathana and his late brother Rizano was one of the finest centres Isipathana ever had. attached is a photograph of the flats side, which Hiran was not available, but was part and parcel of this great side.
