I have lots of fond memories of the Amarasekera’s. Christopher and I flew with her father...Capt. Amarasekera, Director at the Civil Aviation Authority from Ratmalana to Trinco on a Dakota. We played “tennis ball” cricket on the lane way at the back of F-Block...and Mrs. Amarasekera would shout at us whenever one of us would strike a window! The good-ole-days! Warm Regards Bertie Mendis.

  • Please Convey our Sincere Condolences to Christo & Anita Amarasekera on the demise of their Beautiful Sister Jennifer. My memories go back to the Bamba Flats, Block F where both our Families Lived. Jennifer was a very pleasant natured girl and always had a smile on her face. She joined in the fun, even playing cricket with the boys when we played our soft ball matches between F block and the garages which ran parallel to the block. Jennifer and Christo both looked like their Mother, whilst Anita and Ranjith looked like their Father. What a Beautiful Family, brought up strict, yet allowed to mingle with us whilst we played sport and enjoyed each other’s Company. Whilst Christo and I only fought once, we grew up without any animosity against each other. Jennifer, Anita and Ranjith were younger than us and were Good Friends of my younger siblings, Cheryl, Maive and Roger. I am sad we lost contactwith each other when the Families emigrated in the early 70’s, but I sincerely hope that the bond developed during our Youth will still keep us together in Spirit. Christo & Anita, be assured of our Prayers for your Beautiful Sister Jennifer.May Her Soul Rest In Peace. God’s Blessings to both of You as you prepare to lay her ashes to Rest in the Country of Our Birth. Sincerely, Everard & Dagmar Hoffman

  • Remembering Jenny Amare (as we used to call her) with much love and recalling all the fun times we had during our teen years - the carefree innocent years of our life. The many times we visited her home to get "permission” to have an evening out together. Feel so sad but know you are in a better place. May God Bless you and may you be at peace. Jen Vanderstraaten
  • I was very sorry to hear of the passing of my childhood friend, Jenny. We had many wonderful experiences as teenagers in the surrounds around Galle Road and Dickman’s Road - upand down in the hot sun from Jenny’s home at the flats to ours in Elibank Road. My thoughts are with Anita, Christo and family and Jenny’s daughter at this sad time. Sonia (nee Rodrigue)

  • I recall the happy weekend Erin and I spent with Jennifer at her apartment in London with Anita and Ranjith in 2004. She was a great hostess - lamprais were flown in from Sri Lanka by Air Lanka the first night, trip to Little India the next day, and, of course, the never ending chatter and laughter of flatters! Rest In Peace Jennifer. My deepest sympathy to her daughter Natasha, Anita and Christopher. Marlene Kodituwakku
